Description
The angular correlation between scattered ions and K-X-ray emission is presented for K-shell excitation in collisions between 10 and 20 MeV Ne7+ ions and a Ne target. The photons were measured at 90deg to the beam, and the photon emission probability was measured as a function of impact parameter, charge state of the scattered ion and the angle between the scattering plane and the photon direction. From the results, the magnetic substate distribution of the excited electron is discussed. (orig.)
