Application of multiwire two-dimensional detectors for rapid analysis of labelled radionuclide compounds put on plane samples

Description
On-line measurement system on the base of multiwire two-dimensional position-sensitive detector is described. The equipment is designed for rapid analysis of radionuclide-labelled biochemical saples, prepared by chromatography or electrophoresis in thin layers. System operation peculiarities in cases of 3H, 14C, 32P, 125I radiation detection are discussed. Measurement system basic parameters are as follows: sensitive area is (160x160) mm; rapid analysis maximal time -30 min; sensitivity to 14C, 35S isotopes equals to 2pCi/mm2, to 32P, 125P and 3H isotopes (for infinitely thin layer) - 0.2,6 and 10 pCi/mm2, respectively; maximum attainable spatial resolution constitutes 1-1.5 mm
