Quasielastic pion scattering (Texas, Virginia, New Mexico State, LASL)
Creators
Description
Differential cross sections for π+- scattering from 12C, 40Ca, 44Ca, and 48Ca were measured at 180 MeV (600) and 291 MeV (60 and 1200). Many features of the data are reasonably well reproduced by a model of incoherent multiple scattering of pions by a Fermi gas of nucleons with a uniform, spherica distribution. 3 figures
