Description
A BRST approach for a dynamical system with second class constraints based on intermediate first class ones is analyzed in a simple case. From it, a very direct scheme involving only the original constraints is derived. By generalizing the later, a modified BRST formalism is stated: it avoids any dimensional reduction or first class intermediate algebra, and is applicable to an arbitrary second class algebra.
