Production of ultrahigh purity rare metals
Creators
Description
Theoretical statements of physical methods of metal refining are briefly described; the latest experimental data on production of some rare metals in the especially pure state necessary for both fundamental investigations in the field of solid-state physics and for creating new materials with special-purpose properties are analysed and generalized. Possibilities of deep rare metal refining by the methods of distillation, zone melting, electrotransfer and by other methods, using vacuum and superhigh vacuum equipment, are discussed. The role of superhigh vacuum, when producing super-pure metals, is considered. The perspective of complex application of physical methods of refining for deep metal purification is shown
