Application prospects of the cyclotron type U-103

The cyclotron under construction at the Nuclear Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Debrecen, Hungary, is intended to solve applied research and practical problems through irradiation and analytical applications and by isotope production, especially in selected industrial, medical and agricultural fields. The cyclotron type U-103 will be utilized as both primary and secondary radiation source. The general use of the cyclotron type U-103 seems reasonable due to its advantages concerning the expected neutron yeilds and the neutron energy spectra of various nuclear reactions. The isotopes which can be produced and their measured yields are tabulated. The 28 isotopes include 11C, 13N, 150, 18F, 22Na, 30P. (Sz.J.)
