Topical standardization of dosimetry. Travel report from a meeting at BIPM in Paris in April 1976
Description
The international concordance, concerning the measuring of exposure dose (unit: Roentgen), has now become about 0.5 percent to as well low energy x-radiation (10 - 50 kV) as to conventional x-radiation (50 - 250 kV) and Co 60-radiation. The statement from the laboratory of BIPM in Paris will valid as an international guide value. Bearing in mind the needs within the field of medical radiation treatment, international comparisons will be made during the next few years in order to determine absorbed dose (unit: rad) in graphite during irradiation with Co 60-radiation in a graphite phantom under defined irradiation conditions. Work will also be done about absorbed dose in water in a water phantom with a view to the possibility of calibration of an ionisation chamber for absorbed dose from Co 60-radiation. (M.S.)
