Intensity and spatial distribution of scattered 204Tl beta particles
Description
On the basis of the results of experimental studies of the scattering of 204Tl beta particles in aluminium absorbers of different thicknesses in different geometries, empirical mathematical expressions are developed describing the form of the beta particle transmission curves and the changes that occur in the angular distribution of the transmitted beta particles with changes in absorber thickness. The manner in which the parameters in these expressions will depend on the geometry, the atomic number of the absorber and the end-point energy of the beta particle spectrum is discussed. (Auth.)
