International experience of storing spent fuel in NUHOMS systems

  • 1. Transnuclear, Inc., New York (United States)
  • 2. Cogema Logistics, Paris (France)

Description

International experience in the design, licensing and operation of the NUHOMS system shows it to be a safe and reliable method for both the intermediate storage and off-site transportation of spent fuel. Its flexibility enables a wide range of fuel types to be stored and transported. It is also readily adaptable to local constraints such as handling weight limits, restricted access to fuel pool buildings and a wide range of environmental conditions. (author)
