Quark model for K-p → πΣ, πΛ reactions at low energies

Description

In our SU(3) quark model, K⁻p→πΣ,πΛ reactions at low energies are investigated. The physical baryon octet is taken as 8 (physical)=8′cosθ+8sinθ, where the octets 8 and 8′, arise, respectively, from 3 ⊗ 3̄ and 3 ⊗ 6 contained in the direct product 3 ⊗ 3 ⊗ 3. In terms of the mixing angle θ, our calculations are compared with the available data on (a) ϵ=R(Λ)[R(Σ+)+R(Σ)2R(Σ0)+R(Λ)], (b) R(Λ)R(Σ0), and (c) R(Σ0)R(Σ), at p_L=293 MeV/c.
