Properties of structural ceramics manufactured with ultrasonic methods

Description
A comparison is made between properties (density, elastic aftereffect, shrinkage, microhardness, sintering capacity) of ceramic specimens of ZrO2 + 5 wt. % Y2O3 composition and those of ZrO2-Y2O3-Al2O3 system prepared from ultradisperse powders using ultrasonic pressing and sintering at a temperature of 1650 deg C. It is revealed that the values of density, microhardness and aftereffect for compacts and sintered ceramics with aluminium oxide is lower than for ZrO2 + 5 wt. % Y2O3 composition. Further investigation are recommended to find optimal condition for manufacturing high quality structural ceramics on the basis of Zr-Y-Al-O system powders with the use of ultrasonic compacting
Abstract (Russian)
Проведено сравнение свойств (плотности, упругого последействия, усадки, микротвердости, спекаемости) керамических образцов состава ZrO2 + 5 вес. % Y2O3 и системы ZrO2-Y2O3-Al2O3, изготовленных из ультрадисперсных порошков методами ультразвукового прессования и спекания при температуре 1650 град С. Установлено, что значения плотности, микротвердости и упругого последействия, прессовок и спеченной керамики, содержащих оксид алюминия, ниже, чем для состава ZrO2 + 5 вес. % Y2O3. Рекомендовано проведение дальнейших исследований для нахождения оптимальных режимов изготовления высококачественной конструкционной керамики на основе порошков системы Zr-Y-Al-O с использованием ультразвукового компактированияAdditional details
