Main coolant pump for nuclear reactors
Description
The pump is part of the circuit of a PWR. To protect against overspeeding on fracture of a pipe, a braking device is provided which brakes the pump rotor before it can reach the overspeed region. A brake ring with conical braking surfaces is used as the braking device, which acts on the corresponding surfaces on the pump rotor. The differential pressure between the pessure and suction sides of the pump is used as criterion for applying the brake. (DG)

Die Pumpe gehoert zum Kreislauf eines DWR. Zum Schutz gegen Ueberdrehzahl bei Leitungsbruch ist eine Bremsvorrichtung vorgesehen, die den Pumpenlaeufer vor Erreichen des Ueberdrehzahlbereiches abbrennt. Als Bremsvorrichtung dient ein Bremsring mit konischen Bremsflaechen, die mit entsprechenden Flaechen am Pumpenmotor zusammenarbeiten. Als Ausloese-Kriteriumen wird die Druckdifferenz zwischen der Druck- und Saugseite der Pumpe herangezogen. (DG)Files
