Study on the elastic scattering of protons and (pα0) reaction on the 11B nucleus

Description

A study is made of elastic scattering of protons and the (pα0) reaction on 11B nuclei with beams of polarized and upolarized protons at proton energy Esub(p)=1.8-3.0 MeV. Differential elastic scattering cross-sections are measured by a magnetic spectrometer with energy resolution of 0.2%. The study of the (pα0) reaction is made in a scattering chamber with silicon detectors, whose energy resolution does not exceed 1%. For Esub(p)=2.5 MeV the 10 keV-thick target is prepared by evaporation of 11B2O3 on Al-foil. The excitation function is investigated for the (pα0) reaction. An evidence is obtained for the resonance at Esub(p)=1.98 MeV and resonances are observed at Esub(p)=2.62; 2.66 and 2.70 MeV. The angular dependence for vector analyzing ability of the (pα0) reaction at Esub(p)=2.63; 2.64 and 2.66 MeV is measured. On measuring of proton differential cross sections elastically scattered on 11N nucleus the anomaly near the energy of Esub(p)=2 MeV is found and the structure of wide resonance at Esub(p)=2.6 MeV corresponding to excited states of 12C nucleus are observed
