Outer and inner parts of high-latitude magnetic disturbances

Description
The field of model current system in the Earth atmosphere having a morphological similarity with the empirical current model of the substorm explosive phase is calculated. The model comprises two western jets, whereas at the Earth surface their effect is observed as a common electrojet. It is concluded that the western electrojet in the morning sector is the the organic part of the DP12-system, while the western current in the night sector, DP11
