Description

The aim of this study is to map the technical, economic and organizational options and limitations of feeding biogas back into the natural gas grid by means of regional co-digestion. Emphasis is put on feeding back into the natural gas grid, analogous to a comparable situation in a number of landfill gas projects. This report first provides insight into the energetic potential of co-digestion. Next several landfill gas projects are examined that feed back into the natural gas grid. After that the political and policy-related issues and preconditions for feeding back biogas from co-digestion are discussed, including the technical and economic aspects. Finally, a picture is painted of the future potential of green gas. [mk]

Abstract (Dutch)

Het doel van deze studie is het in kaart brengen van de technische, economische en organisatorische mogelijkheden en beperkingen voor het terugleveren van biogas aan het aardgasnet middels regionale covergisting. Hierbij ligt de focus op het terugleveren aan het aardgasnet, analoog aan hoe dat nu bij een aantal stortgasprojecten gebeurt. In dit rapport wordt eerst inzicht gegeven in het energetisch potentieel van covergisting. Vervolgens wordt gekeken naar stortgasprojecten met teruglevering aan het aardgasnet. Daarna wordt stilgestaan bij politieke en beleidsmatige zaken en de randvoorwaarden voor biogas teruglevering met covergisting, inclusief de technische en economische aspecten. Tenslotte wordt een beeld geschetst van het toekomstpotentieel van groen gas
