Description

In this paper the distributed computer architecture of the nuclear plant analyzer of ATLAS (ATHLET Analysis Simulator) for test control facility (TCF) including hardware configuration and software organization is briefly reviewed. The application of ATLAS for the study of a small- break loss-of-coolant accident (SBLOCA) is described. Based on the existing safety concept for German pressurized water reactors for preventing core damage, the effects of the accident management (AM) measures are analyzed. A significant part of the paper is devoted to aspects of the SBLOCA results visualization. The future work towards AM, emergency procedures and visualization in TCF are outlined
