Description

In designing nuclear power plant instrumentation systems a very large extent of safety measures has to be realized due to the additional possibilities of ionizing radiation hazards as compared with conventional power plants. In the present paper some problems of stating safety requirements to instrumentation and of transferring the corresponding functions on to the automation levels as well as some aspects concerned with device and system design are discussed. The tight relationship between safety and economic considerations is pointed out. (author)
