A brief on the implementation of the national nuclear power programme
Description
The Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission is poised to position the country to successfully implement the National Nuclear Power programme in a sustainable manner. A programme to deploy NPPs for electricity generation has been developed and approved by the Federal Government. Successful implementation requires meticulous planning and serious commitment of national resources on a long-term basis. National cooperation and partnership with the IAEA and the international community is deemed to be paramount, appropriate and useful for the success of the programme. Government has shown commitment by taking on the responsibility for infrastructure and manpower development and would create the expected enabling environment for successful implementation in partnership with the private sector.The implementation of the programme is on course
