Description
The design and basic parameters of a contactless beam cross section monitor are described. The monitor contains extracting and analysing capacitors, a current collector made as an electron-optical transformer with amplification based on microchannel plates, and power supplies. The monitor aperture is 60 mm, monitored area is 40x40 mm, spatial resolution is 1x1 mm, 30 MeV proton beam sensitivity is 10-8A. 5 refs
