Study of the movement of metallic pollutants in the physical environment and biological chains

  • 1. Departement de protection, Association Euratom/CEA, Centre d'etudes nucleaires de Fontenay-aux-Roses, France

Description

The authors describe, giving examples, the use of nuclear and non-nuclear techniques in studying the movement of metallic elements capable of contaminating the environment, man and various other organisms. A brief account is given of the methods employed. Emphasis is placed on obtaining data which can be used in predicting the harm which may result in the long term for man and the environment from increases in the concentrations of metallic pollutants.
