Description
In order to gain insight into the value of echographic examination of the breast, the radiological and ultrasonic mammograms were compared of 571 palpable mammary lesions. Of these lesions, 104 were classified as carcinomas on histological or cytologial grounds. The sensitivity of the radiological mammogram was 91%, that of ultrasonic mammogram 83%. Echographic examination may be regarded as a valuable additional tool for the diagnosis of mammary lesions. (Auth.)
