The first three bound states for the potential V(r) = ar2+br-4+cr-6
Description
It is shown that the wavefunction proposed by Kaushal and Parashar [Phys. Lett. A 170 (1992) 335] has four different possible sets of solutions for the wavefunction parameters and the constraint between the potential parameters. Expressions are derived for these for the four solutions. It is shown that the wavefunction in question can represent any of the following states: the ground state, the first excited state, or the second excited state, depending on the values of the parameters of the wavefunction. It is also shown that the values a=1, b=-11.25 and c=3.515625 satisfy the constraint between the parameters both for the ground state and the first excited state. (orig.)
