NO-mediated mechanisms of hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced functional changes in the heart after irradiation

Description

The data obtained have revealed the involvement of nitric oxide in hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced functional changes of isolated Langendorff-perfused rat heart after irradiation in 1 Gy dose. NO synthase inhibition decreased reoxygenation damage of the heart in control and after acute irradiation, but had no effects after chronic radiation exposure. (authors)
