After Chernobylsk, does an entitlement to environment mean?

  • 1. UFR des Sciences Sociales de Caen, 14 (France)

Description

This article articulates in four points or perspectives: The first point is the question of the right of the peoples to have a livable world; The second point concerns the individual and collective responsibility in the consequences of our choices and our acts; The third point discusses the fact that the assurance does not cover any more an uncertain risk (cancers are predictable) but one time (when will appear these cancers). More, the radioinduced diseases are not repairable. The nuclear as the bio technologies are not insurable; The fourth point concerns the penal liability of the acts of the post accidental management, the nuclear lobby continues to preach the theory according to the fact that the Chernobylsk accident would not have almost any impact on health and on environment, considering that the closure of the nuclear power plant in 2000 has closed equally the file. Without epidemiological studies, made by national or international organizations, it stays difficult to devote the over mortality to Chernobylsk. (N.C.)
