Magnetic resonance imaging of brain tumors
- 1. Jikei Univ., Tokyo (Japan). School of Medicine
Description
Longitudinal relaxation times (T1) of 36 brain tumors were calculated with a magnetic resonance imaging system of 0.15 Tesla resistive magnet. T1 values of brain tumors were longer, in most instance, than the normal brain. Epidermoid with adipose tissue showed very short T1 value, while cystic tumors showed very long T1 values. Most of meningiomas showed T1 values similar to normal gray matter. T1 values had no correlation with tumor maturation. (author)
