Description
There are two generations of L PWR in Russia: WVVER-440 and WWER-1000 types. These reactors have different design of control members: 37 absorber assemblies in WWER-440 and multi-rod cluster system in WWER1000. All Russian WWERs of the new generation are using the cluster absorber systems. Therefore, design and operational experience of absorbing components (ACs) and control members of modern and advanced WWER-1000 designs are described in this paper. Basic results of investigations of the properties of Hf, Dy2O3.TiO3 and XHM1 alloy are presented. Some results of ACs high temperature behavior for safety analysis under accident condition are also presented
