The oxidation of iron in CO2 at 13300 C
Description
Some kinetic and morphological observations are reported on iron oxidation with CO2 at 13300C. The influence of the specimen origin and the effect of size are also examined. Two types of iron were studied: electrolytic zone refined and Armco. Experimental details are given. The oxidation product was examined by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. (U.K.)
