New emphasis on material accountability's role in special nuclear materials security
Description
An evaluation of the Y-12 Plant SNM accountability system determined that some changes could be made to upgrade SNM security. A system has been devised to supplement regular monthly enriched uranium inventories with verification inventories of selected batches. The revised system will also permit emergency inventories within six hours. The system changes are primarily in data handling and will cost very little. (U.S.)
