Determination of specific activity of natural radionuclides in building materials

Description
The three-channel spectrometric unit NV 3201, the detection unit NKG 320 and the modified mobile shielding of the detection unit NE 3502 were used for determining the specific activity of 40K, 226Ra and 232Th in building materials. The method is described of measuring samples in Marinelli vessels with a volume of 0.86 l in the energy ranges of 1.3 - 1.6 MeV, 1.61 - 2.3 MeV and 2.4 - 2.85 MeV for 40K, 226Ra and 232Th, respectively.
