Neutronic studies for the design of irradiation devices
- 1. Centre d'Etude de l'Energie Nucleaire, Mol (Belgium)
Description
In the framework of the WRS (Water Reactor Safety) project of in-pile testing at the BR2 Reactor, in order to evaluate the behavior of PWR fuel rod bundles under abnormal operating conditions, neutronic studies have been done. The aim of these studies is to achieve appropriate irradiation conditions taking into account the core physics aspects and the reactor utilization programme. The main characteristics of the codes running on an IBM 370/168 computer are presented. The specifications for the neutronic studies in the WRS loop are given as well as the theoretical and experimental results in the irradiation of 21 and 45 rod bundles. (A.F.)
