Equation of state and thermodynamic properties of normal hydrogen in the temperature interval T = 200-7000K and pressure range p = 10-1000 MPa

Description

An equation of state is proposed for molecular hydrogen in the temperature interval T = 200-7000K and pressure range of p from 10 to 1000 MPa, constructed using the property of the approximate linearity of the isobars of the molar volume of the gas far from its critical point. Using this equation, calculations are made of the molar volume V, enthalpy i, entropy S, and chemical potential μ of normal hydrogen in the given range of state parameters. Comparison of the calculational results with the compilations of the p-V-T properties of normal hydrogen shows that in this range of T and p the disagreement is on the average 0.35% for V, 0.4% for i, and 0.2% for S
