Two-phonon infrared absorption in A3Ga5O12 (A=Gd, Sm, Nd) and AWO4 (A=Cd, Zn) monocrystals

Description
The fine structure of two-phonon absorption spectra is investigated in A3Ga5O12 (A=Gd, Sm, Nd) and AWO4 (A=Cd, Zn) single crystals and maxima of these spectra are compared for one-phonon mode. The application of the IR-spectroscopy method of two-phonon modes to study the oscillation distribution in the Brillouin zone and the possibility of correct registration of the energy loss factor for high-energy electrons during their interaction with crystalline lattice of the above compounds are under discussion
