Beam dynamics simulation in final beam bunching of heavy ion inertial fusion
- 1. Tokyo Institute of Technology, Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Department of Energy Sciences, Yokohama, Kanagawa (Japan)
Description
Bunching beam dynamics and emittance growth in a final buncher of heavy ion fusion accelerator system are studied using a particle-in-cell simulation. The results indicate that while the beam current is increased by longitudinal compression, the beam particles dilute in phase space depending on the bunching history. (author)
