Radiation monitoring and remediation following the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident. Cooperation between Fukushima Prefecture and the IAEA. Interim report (2013 to 2020). Fukushima Prefecture initiative projects. Executive summary

Description

Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident caused severe damage and posed significant challenges for restoring the environment and ensuring the well-being of residents in Fukushima Prefecture. While the collaboration between Fukushima Prefecture and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) against those had been extended over years consecutively, it was acknowledged and shared remediation of the environment was halfway through and that the accomplishment of the proposed projects required further support from the IAEA. Subsequently, some project themes were renamed with the continuation. This report is an interim report on activities from Fiscal Year (FY) 2013, focusing on activities from FY2018 to FY2019, in which Fukushima Initiative Project 4 (FIP4) was completed in FY2015 without extension.
