Radiation-induced destruction of nitrocellulose
- 1. Kemerovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Kemerovo (USSR)
Description
By the methods of IR-spectroscopy, capillary vicsonsimetry, gas chromatography, chemical analysis and physicomechanical tests, the influence of cellulose nature, esterification degree and irradiation conditions on nitrocellulose (NC) destruction was studied. Radiation-chemical yields of bond breaks in the macrochain, nitrogroup elimination and formation of radiolysis gaseous products were determined. It was shown that the nature of initial cellulose did not affect NC destruction in homogeneous and heterogeneous conditions
