Orano Cycle - Melox. Information report of the Orano Melox site. This report is established in compliance with article L. 125-15 of the French environmental code - 2018 Edition

Description

Orano transforms nuclear materials so that they can be used to support the development of society, first and foremost in the field of energy. The group offers products and services with high added value throughout the entire nuclear fuel cycle, from raw materials to waste treatment. This safety report was established in accordance with articles L. 125-15 of the French environmental code. It presents, first, the Orano Melox facility (location, environment, operator, history, Mox fuel fabrication, clients, regulatory aspects, sustainable development and continuous improvement policy) and the actions for the prevention and limitation of risks (nuclear safety, Orano's policy, specific dispositions, facility safety organisation, radiation protection and ALARA principle, 2018 report and 2019 prospects). Then, it presents the declared nuclear events of the past year and the monitoring of the environment (effluents management and environment monitoring, resources consumption, effluents control, environmental impact, wastes management and minimization and 2019 prospects). Finally, the actions of communication and public information made by the direction of the facility are summarized. A recall of Orano's 2017-2020 safety-environment policy, a glossary, and the recommendations from the Committees for health, safety and working conditions are given in appendix
