Description

We show that NN-bar vacuum polarizations correct the meson exchange interactions in nuclei. The vacuum polarization correction depends on the nuclear density. Meson exchange interactions determined from two-nucleon systems must be corrected by the vacuum polarizations in nuclei. The proton-58Ni elastic scattering data suggest that the strength of the meson exchange interactions is suppressed in nuclei. It is a possible evidence of the NN-bar vacuum polarization correction to the meson exchange interactions. (author)
