Will the United States change its approach to regulation
Description
Regulatory reform proposals produced by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission are the first significant step in nuclear power licensing and regulation reform in the United States since the Atomic Energy Act of 1954. The background to the proposals and an assessment of the chances that reforms will be enacted are discussed. (U.K.)
