Estimating molecular hydrogen in diffuse interstellar clouds

Description
It is shown that good estimates of the column density of molecular hydrogen in diffuse interstellar clouds may be obtained in two ways: from the atomic hydrogen column density combined with E(B-V); and from optical observations of CH molecules. The latter method is more accurate. (Author)
