New Process Research on Structural materials for Nuclear Power Plant

Description

It is very important to establish the new cheap massive process of dispersion strengthening alloy exposed to extreme environment, in order to improve safety, high temperature and irradiation resistance from the viewpoint of future nuclear and basic materials technology. Development of a new process technology for the fabrication and joining of dispersion strengthening alloys is essential to achieve the massive process of them. In this regard, in the present work, core technologies on the fabrication technology by the help of high energy powder process and nano-particle dispersion casting process and on the joining technology based on surface friction and magnetic pulse joining are successfully achieved. Because the developed fabrication technology is material-independent, it is expected to get a core technology on the particle dispersion strengthening alloy, which is one of candidate materials of next generation nuclear power plant, and to contribute to the long-life and large-sized NPP through the establishment of high performance material
