Preliminary Measurement of Beta(tau- ---> K- pi0 nu/tau) Using the BaBar Detector

Description

A preliminary measurement of the branching fraction Β(τ- → K-π0ντ) is made using 124.4 fb-1 of e+e- collision data provided by the PEP-II accelerator, operating primarily at √s = 10.58 GeV, and recorded using the BABAR detector. They measure: Β(τ- → K- π0ντ) = (0.438 ± 0.004(stat) ± 0.022(syst))%. This result is the world's most precise measurement of this branching fraction to date and is consistent with the world average
