Method for Sr-89 and Sr-90 individual determination after separation from fission product mixtures

Description
The rapid method for Sr-89 and Sr-90 determination after radiochemical separation in objects taken from environment contaminated with fission products using low-background beta radiometer with background counting rate of 0.05-0.07 s-1 and the efficiency of Sr-90 + Y-90 beta particle detection equal to 50% and standard beta radiometer with the SI8B counter is suggested. The method gives an opportunity to determine Sr-89 and Sr-90 concentration at the level of 1 Bq/kg by means of low-background beta radiometer and that at the level of 30 Bq/kg using the beta radiometer with the SI8B counter with accuracy lower than 50% and measurement time of 20-30 min. 5 refs
