Variation of Tc in YBaCuO/PrBaCuO superlattice: a charge transfer effect?

Description
In YBaCuO/PrBaCuO superlattices, with one or two YBaCuO layers, there is a decrease of Tc with the number of intercalated layers, which is usually attributed to the decoupling of the superconducting planes. In this paper we propose an alternative mechanism involving charge transfer between PrBaCuO and YBaCuO. Calculations are made using a simple numerical model to illustrate this idea. (orig.)
