Description
The stopping of Ag ions recoiling through Al, Ti, V, Fe, Ni, Zn, Zr, and Pd was measured at various recoil energies with a method based on the Doppler shift of γ rays. The dependence of the electronic stopping cross section on the stopper atomic number and on recoil velocity is compared to the semiempirical predictions of Ziegler et al
