Resonance Fluorescence Measurement of the Rate Constant of the Reaction of Chlorine Atoms with CF3Br at Temperatures of 273–353 K

Description
The rate constant of the reaction of chlorine atoms with CF3Br was measured at temperatures of 273–353 K by resonance fluorescence. The experimental rate constants increased when the experiments were performed at lower temperatures. Measurements at 295 K were carried out under different conditions of chlorine atom diffusion to the reactor wall. The reaction of the chlorine atom with CF3Br was assumed to occur on the reactor surface. The possibility of this reaction occurring during fire extinguishing at various industrial facilities was discussed.
