Description
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) has now been established as a method for in-vivo non-invasive measurements of metabolism in a variety of tissues. Concentrations of metabolism, pH and reaction rate constants can be measured. A brief introduction to the principles of NMR is provided together with an illustration of how the technique can be used to investigate cerebral ischaemia. (author)
