Peaceful uses of nuclear energy and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons

The relationship between the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons is discussed, considering the objectives and possibilities of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and giving reasons for the necessity of accepting this Treaty universally. Further points are the international nuclear market and the application of safeguards in connection with the transfer of nuclear material, equipment or technology. As regards safeguards the role of the IAEA is emphasized. In conclusion, brief comments are made on INFCE and the problem of physical protection
