Dose-depth profiles in thick electron-irradiated polyethylene layers

Description
Solid polyethylene sheets as well as polyethylene film stacks were irradiated, the total thickness of which was greater than the range of the incident electrons. For analysis of the dose-depth profile the radiation induced trans-vinylene content in the samples were measured. The investigations under the chosen conditions yielded no differences in the dose-depth profiles between solid sheets and film stacks. Likewise no range variation could be found after absorption of different quantities of trapped electrons. (author)
