Description

Probability (stochastic) modelling was used for the interpretation of geophysical methods of investigating fissure collectors of petroleum and gas (by neutron gamma-logging and lateral logging). The stochastic model used was based on modern ideas of the formation of porousness in carbonate rocks. The model was run on a computer. Examples are given of interpretations by the method described of two bore holes revealing carbonate sections of the Ordovician in the Baltic republics and the upper chalk in the eastern Caucasian foothills.
