Programme for Improvement of Solid Radioactive Waste Management in Andreeva Bay Site. Agenda item 2 (Paper in English)

Paper and presentation are devoted to the programme for RW management at Andreeva bay, a former navy base, in particular the prospects of management of 17,510 m³ of solid RW accumulated at the site. It was based on materials of the Feasibility Study on RW Management carried out by Russia and Sweden, and included the existing experience in nuclear facilities remediation. The paper covered: - the objective and tasks of solid RW management; - solid RW inventory; - description of the solid RW management concept; - milestones for the concept implementation and organisation of work; - concept of handling of different types of solid wastes; - configuration and characteristics of RW management facilities and equipment; - proposals for foreign participation in the programme.
